External HDDs and mobile HDDs are different in that the latter are much more compact and easy to carry than the former, but G-Technology still didn't want to choose which to favor, so it launched one of each.

And it went one extra mile and installed Thunderbolt technology support on them, in addition to USB 3.0.

The G-Drive with Thunderbolt is the larger model, the External HDD, while the G-Drive mobile with Thunderbolt is thinner, and has less capacity.

Which is to say, the former, with a transfer speed of up to 165 MB/s, has 3 TB or 4TB of storage space (prices of $300 / €300 and $400 / €400, respectively), while the latter reaches 136 MB/s and comes in 1 TB ($220 / €220).

The newcomers should be good for ferrying films and music, or for backup.
