G-Tech announced the launch of a new line of external storage devices that are offering fast data transferring speeds, generous storage space as well as ease of deployment and of use. The new line of products is called the G-Speed eS and it comes equipped with a fast external Serial ATA interface, data protection by RAID and a host of other useful functions.

The new external storage solution from G-Tech was especially designed and manufactured for digital content creators as it also comes with an optional PCI Express compliant expansion card that enables users to link up several G-Speed eS external storage devices and come up with a single unified storage system.

As data protection and back up systems are becoming more and more important, G-Tech implemented advanced RAID options into its new external storage box and it comes with several RAID options that include RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 as well as JBOD. Thanks to this system that can be switched from one setting to the next very easily, the G-SPEED eS can be optimized either for performance or for data protection and back up. According to the manufacturing company, G-Tech, this external storage unit can be even set up in a software RAID configuration when it is used in conjunction with other external Serial ATA controllers.

As this product was intended for digital content creators that are working with a big amount of data, no less than four G-SPEED eS enclosures can be linked up to one of the G-Tech RAID controllers in order to deliver data transferring speeds of 600MB per second while amounting to a storage space of over 16TB. The new G-SPEED eS is made up from a compact and lightweight desktop enclosure that is big enough to house four lockable serial ATA II hard disk drives and each drive can have as much as 32MB of internal cache memory.

A Web based configuration and management software application makes the deployment and control of this external storage unit very easy and it also allows users to remotely control it. As the hard disk drives are hot swappable and they are also covered by a cooling fan, new drives can be easily introduced or old ones replaced without powering down the entire system.
