Google Australia announced today that it will host the upcoming G'day Google, an event that will bring together Google employees and IT professionals. The conference, scheduled for 8 May, 2007, will be hosted by the Googleplex, the famous Google headquarters located in Mountain View, CA. If you want to register for the upcoming event, all you need to do is to fill in a form posted on Google's G'day page available at this link.

The search giant has lately tried to promote Google Australia periodically by releasing new regional products or by updating some of the existing solutions. For example, the first time when Australia was brought in the spotlights was in January when the company announced its intentions to include several Sydney high-resolution photos for Google Maps.

"G'day Google is an open house we're hosting for IT professionals from Google and from other San Francisco Bay Area companies to showcase the exciting work that Google Australia and the Australian IT sector are doing. It's the first such event we're holding; hopefully there will be more to come," Alice Boxhall, Software Engineer, tried to describe the new step in Google Australia's promotion process.

"Google Australia is hosting an event at the Googleplex in Mountain View, CA. Please join us for a night of food, drinks & networking with members of our Sydney engineering team. Come hear Alan Noble, Sydney Engineering Site Director, speak about the exciting R&D projects currently underway in our Sydney office. We'll also take some time to discuss the technology industry in Sydney and how it's changing," it is added on the event's page.

This is not the first time when Google tries to lure visitors to its headquarters as the search giants recently announced the Developer Day conference scheduled for May 31. As you might know, this event was specially prepared to attract developers and talk about the utilities powered by Google. However, the conference is somehow similar with the one hosted by Apple, Worldwide Developers Conference being a perfect moment for releasing new products.
