Sirius Satellite radio is the second major satellite radio service operating in the US and Canada. The name is derived from Sirius, which is sometimes referred to as the Dog Star, the brightest star in the nigh-time sky.

Recently, the company announced the launch of its first portable media player, dubbed "Stiletto". The player's features seem to have remained unchanged, since the previous Sportster model, meaning the manufacturers decided to keep the Wi-Fi and SD MP3 playback of the original player. However, it was considerably improved to support up to 100 hours of continuous program recording.

Regarding its design, the main difference is that Stiletto 2 looks sleeker, more carefully focused on the details and completely portable. But, besides revealing beauty contest-like design lines, it can automatically record the user's favorite SIRIUS satellite radio without delivering any commercial program during the process, which is great.

According to the company's representatives, with a single touch recording, the Sirius device can both schedule and record up to 6 hours of your favorite music, but also news, talk-shows directly from the Sirius Satellite radio broadcasts. Not to mention it enables the possibility of listening to Sirius over an accessible WiFi network.

Still, its strongest feature is the capability to download and manage MP3 and WMA file formats with the included My Sirius Studio software for the Windows PCs, but also the integrated option that allows you to bookmark favorite songs and also purchase them from the online music services or the enhanced media dial with six-way navigation control that makes the content navigation much easier and pleasant. The system comes with no less than 30 channel presets integrated in the device, as well as some audible channel names.

And, for the first time, the system comes with a GameAlert option that will alert you when your favorite games are broadcast or when the high score changes. For enraged gamers, the manufacturers have included a GameZone function that allows some interesting gaming customization.

All in all, with a price tag around 350 bucks, The Stiletto 100 might actually be a serious pain in the a*s for some heavy names out there.

And to make the Sirius launch even more exciting, the Polk Audio manufacturers decided to launch a special version of the miDock Portfolio, custom designed for the stylish Stilettos. According to Polk's representatives, the dock is great to use while traveling and takes only a couple of inches of your suitcase to carry it. Just like the Stiletto, the miDock runs perfectly without needing an AC adapter. It uses only the common AA batteries for charging purposes, but you can also charge it, using the wall outlet.

The Sirius-only Polk Audio speakers system includes an aux input for the outside sources and comes with a remote control. Polk says the system supports other versions of the Sirius Stiletto besides the latest model. The sockig station is expected to e out starting October with a price rag around 130 bucks a dock!
