News from New Zealand says that, just yesterday, a male fur seal estimated to weigh an impressive 150 kilograms (around 330 pounds) decided to reenact Disney's “The Little Mermaid,” and folks just loved its performance.

Long story short, the animal said goodbye to its aquatic home and went walkies around the city of Dunedin.

According to The New Zealand Herald, the fur seal was spotted exploring several backyards, and a group of workers even saw it on a road at a distance of about one kilometer (about 0.6 miles) from the sea.

“It's not the sort of thing you'd want to come across when you're getting the paper out of the mailbox in the morning,” resident John Fiddes reportedly told the press.

“I was taking a video of it coming along the road and I fell over backwards. I've never seen a seal here before and we've been here since 1970,” he added.

Apart from the fact that it scared the Bejesus out of some pooches and got them barking, the fur seal did not cause any trouble.

Local officials managed to capture it and released it on a local beach. Thus, just four hours after it had first taken its first steps in Dunedin, the marine mammal was back in the water.
