And content add-ons

Now that all the excitement and the buzz of the launch of Age of Conan have faded, Funcom knows that it still has to do a lot of work to create a very good MMO experience. The game attracted a lot of attention up until now, because of the interesting setting and the PvP focus of the game. The pre-orders alone maxed out the Collector's Edition of the game and the launch managed to push more than 400,000 copies of the game in the first few days.

Funcom is now ready to detail some of the changes that it plans to bring to the game in the following months, mostly based on the feedback that it has received from gamers. The focus will likely be on tweaking the small things and adding some balance, as the core gameplay of the game seems to be solid enough not to warrant a change at this time.

A better user interface is one of the top priorities, because a lot of players have said that the current one is pretty cluttered and unworkable. And, apparently, dance moves are going into the game, because most of the people crossing over from dance enabled MMOs can't keep their fingers off the dance keys.

As Funcom spokesperson Erling Ellingsen says, "In June we're giving several dungeons in Stygia a complete overhaul. We're going over some quests to make them even more entertaining and adding a bunch of post-level 50 quests. We're adding voice-overs to a ton of quests pasts level 20 - about one each level - and we're putting in lots of quests that didn't make it for launch." It all seems like a pretty hefty change schedule for a game that was only recently launched.

Funcom is also thinking about implementing a new system for the PvP section of the game that will prevent veteran players from taking out newbies repeatedly. The PvP section will also get specially made gear from Funcom that will only be usable in confrontations with other players.
