They will ship out more units

The holiday season is one filled with profit for the big producers of consoles and games. Most of the time, they begin hyping up their releases months before the start of the season. Things like special versions or collector's editions only serve to awaken the buyer’s enthusiasm. Preparing for the massive demand of units, producers are working over time to take advantage of the upcoming high sales. But in some cases, the overwhelmingly high demand can't be satisfied. Such was the case the previous holiday season for Nintendo. Their already big stock of Wii consoles and DS handhelds was depleted weeks before Christmas and customers were left angry and eventually bought other products. That definitely didn't go well with the Japanese company; it has reported that the stock for the up coming season would be very high in an effort to live up to all their customers’ expectations.

“We have new games and new experiences for every kind of player this holiday season, and that will certainly fuel increased interest in Wii and Nintendo DS,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “While there’s no way to gauge total demand for our hardware systems, we’re trying to satisfy as many of those players as possible.”

Although this might sound like a relief for some of you, don't underestimate the popularity of the Nintendo products. There will surely be huge demand for them and if you definitely want to get your hands on one of the coveted objects, you must go to stores right now. Better buy now than end up on Christmas Eve with nothing under the tree.

It is definitely admirable that Nintendo will go this extra mile to ensure that all of its customers are satisfied and can get a console this season. But, in the end, they're after the profit and are truly determined not to repeat their mistakes.
