Before even being made official, Samsung’s Galaxy S5 flagship handset was rumored to arrive on the market in a variety of versions, the same as Galaxy S4 did last year, and some more info on one of these models is now available online.

The device is said to be released as Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom, which would make it the successor of last year’s Galaxy S4 Zoom, a smartphone launched with a large 16MP camera on the back, with 10.0 x optical zoom.

As it turns out, this year’s flavor will feature upgraded hardware specifications, something that does not come too much as a surprise, considering the specs packed inside the Galaxy S5.

According to a GFXBench listing that PhoneArena has found, the yet unannounced Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom could be released with model number SM-C115 attached and with a 20-megapixel camera on the back, capable of snapping photos at a 5184 x 3888 resolution.

This alone should make it a nice upgrade over last year’s handset, though the rest of the smartphone’s hardware specs were upgraded as well, it seems.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom is said to feature a 4.8-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution and to be powered by a 1.3GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa processor.

Additionally, the phone is expected to feature ARM Mali-T624 graphics, along with 2GB of RAM inside. Moreover, the device is expected to arrive in two different capacities (we suspect 16GB and 32GB) and might also include a microSD memory card slot for storage expansion.

Samsung is also said to launch the Galaxy S5 Zoom with a 2MP camera packed on the front, capable of 1080p video recording, thus offering great video charring features to its users.

The yet unannounced smartphone is also said to be running under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. With Galaxy S5 running under the same OS, this does not come as a surprise, that’s for sure.

For the time being, however, no confirmation on the existence of this device has been provided by Samsung, and it remains to be seen whether the phone will indeed be released in this form.

At the same time, we’re curious to see whether the Galaxy S5 Zoom will be launched with the same bulky camera sensor on the back as its predecessor, which made it a deal breaker for many.

Galaxy S5 will become available for purchase on April 11 all around the world, and Samsung might not announce new versions of the device before that happens, so we might have at least one month to wait for an official announcement on Galaxy S5 Zoom. Stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
