HTC Lead is yet another Android-based mobile phone that should become available for purchase in the United States through AT&T's network, the latest rumors on the matter suggest.

The mobile phone should prove a great option for all of the carrier's users, especially since it is expected to become available as soon as AT&T's LTE network is fired up.

The same as the previously detailed HTC Holiday, the new mobile phone would arrive on shelves with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 application processor, providing users with increased raw power.

However, it is expected to be lower spec'd than the higher end device, with only 768MB of RAM accompanying the processor. Qualcomm's Adreno 220 GPU would be present with the device, for 3D acceleration.

The smartphone should arrive on shelves at AT&T with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a WVGA resolution.

On the back, it would sport only a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with video recording capabilities. No front-facing camera would be present into the mix, nor 3D recording capabilities, as with the Holiday.

The HTC Lead would also include LTE capabilities, complemented by support for the wireless carrier's HSPA+ network. WiFi 802.11b/g/n should be inside this device as well.

The HTC lead would also include a Broadcom BCM4329 chip inside, Pocketnow notes in a recent article, which would offer Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

The usual series of sensors should be there too, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB port, or GPS receiver for location-based services. The smartphone would run under the latest flavor of Android, namely 2.3.4.

As one can easily see, the new HTC Lead might arrive at AT&T as a slightly downgraded flavor of Holiday, though still powerful enough to take down some of the high-end devices on shelves at the moment.

No specific info on the availability of this device emerged for the time being, but chances are that it would arrive along with the HTC Holiday when AT&T launches its LTE network.
