Fujitsu's new, ultraportable personal computer is designed to surpass the PC convenience expectations of customers. The handheld LifeBook UH900 UMPC is light, sleek, powerful, has a brightness high enough for true image clarity even when exposed to daylight and even has a built-in multi-touch support, for the total enjoyment of all features provided by the fully supported Windows 7 Operating System.

The device was built to expressly combine the ultimate one-the-go mobility with high-end computing resources. The LifeBook UH900, although weighing less than 500 grams, packs no less than 65GB of Solid-State memory and runs on the Intel Atom Z530 processor. Through this generous computing power, Fujitsu's product makes an excellent travel computing tool and its WXGA display is a sunlight-readable, 5.6-inch screen with a brightness of 300nits. The screen is fully equipped to display a full-width web page and the built-in thumb-glide point and buttons remove the need for an external mouse. This means that utilizing the full array of capabilities of the LifeBook UH900 will be quick and easy, even outdoors.

Now comes one of the most charming properties of Fujitsu's UMPC, the multi-touch capabilities. When running Windows 7, the thumb-glide point and buttons become obsolete, with all tasks being carried out with simple taps and glides across the gadget's screen. The device can receive touch input from two fingers at the same time and even comes with a pen for precise output.

Naturally, as a UMPC, the LifeBook UH900 includes the full spectrum of wireless connectivity capabilities, including Bluetooth support, a webcam, a stereo mic and the integrated 3.5G technology, which provides high-speed Internet access. The device also features Fujitsu's DVD sharing application, which enables the wireless sharing of external DVD content from another personal computer.

As additional performance features are concerned, the LifeBook UH900 supports all windows-based pages, flash animations and five thumb-controlled Touch Buttons on a panel placed at the flanks of the screen. These buttons may manage the resolution and can be programmed to launch end-users' favorite applications. The panel also boasts an ECO button, which can extend the battery life, although the maximum is a rather unimpressive three hours, which can also be seen as the sole true disadvantage of this product.

Although pricing details have not been given, the non-UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) LifeBook UH900 is expected to come out in January and will be colored in a glossy Mocha Black, Fiery Red and Vintage Gold, soon followed by the UMPC version.
