Since summer is a time when certain companies on the IT market conduct experiments, Fujitsu figured it was time to kick off the “Summer of Speed” program, hence the attention granted to the XG2600 10GbE Ethernet switch.

As end-users know by now, Fujitsu deals in a wide variety of products, and this includes Ethernet solutions.

The outfit does, periodically, announce new devices, but it also, sometimes, finds the need to run some tests before it commits to a project.

This is precisely what is now happening, the outfit having started the “Summer of Speed” test drive program that will let users see for themselves just how well the Fujitsu XG2600 10GbE Ethernet switch works.

Those interested will have the possibility, from June 13 to September 30, to get one of these switches and test it out, without any obligations or risks.

“The 'Summer of Speed' test drive is all about enabling new customers to find out for themselves, in a no-risk, no obligation manner, just how well our XG2600 10GbE Ethernet switch performs in the real world,” said Vic Herring, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Fujitsu Frontech North America.

“Extracting the very highest performance out of network equipment is a key priority in the marketplace. We feel very strongly that our Fujitsu XG2600 paired with Solarflare’s SFN-5122F NIC cards gives our customers the tools they need to deliver their business operations clear and tangible competitive advantages.”

Once the program is over, those that liked the product can choose to keep it, along with the Solarflare SFN-5122F NIC cards complementing it.

Each customer will be allowed to install the bundle on their own and hold onto it for 30 days, evaluating on their own systems.

“Working with Fujitsu on the 'Summer of Speed' test drive program illustrates the confidence we have in the performance of our products,” said Bruce Tolley, vice president of solutions marketing for Solarflare.

“We feel our customers network functions and critical business transactions run faster with this bundle and the test drive program allows them discover this internally, rather than trying to rely manufacturer claims, or media reports.”
