Well, maybe not directly, but it still does. Sort of

People can be remarkably protective, or big worrywarts, or unbelievable control freaks so, naturally, companies want to cash in on those tendencies.

Fujitsu has introduced a special collar meant to be worn by dogs.

Light enough to be comfortably worn all the time, the collar counts how many steps the dog takes, the ambient temperature, how much the pooch shivers, etc.

Whenever you're ready, you can connect your Android phone or computer to the collar - via a special application and FeliCa technology (a smart card system popular in Japan) - and copy the data.

What's more, after transferring the information, you can upload it to the cloud-based software that tracks changes over a long period of time. That way you'll be able to look back and see if any significant changes in your pet's behavior or health managed to sneak up on you.
