Fujitsu's introduced quite a few ultra-portable scanners in its ScanSnap series, and now, the company's decided to target offices as well, releasing the brand-new N1800 Network Scanner.

The new scanner from Fujitsu offers quite a good level of performance, being able to scan documents at speeds of up to 20 pages per minute, while also supporting double-sided scanning speeds at 200 or 300 dots per inch (dpi) in black & white.

Moreover, the control system is also quite advanced, as it consists of an 8.4-inch XGA touch-screen display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution, enabling users to thoroughly check the scanned images and manipulate them (zoom, pan, rotate).

Furthermore, Fujitsu's ScanSnap N1800 Network Scanner also sports plenty of automatic scanning features, being able to easily detect page size and orientation or whether the document being scanned is color or grayscale, while also being able to easily spot and delete blank pages from the final document.

Additionally, the device also offers plenty of security features, making sure that the documents being scanned only reached their proper destination and not other systems connected to the same network.

And since we've reached the topic of scanning destinations, we'll also have to point out that one can easily scan documents directly to an e-mail account, Microsoft SharePoint application, as well as other various devices connected to the network, such as scanners and printers.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll also have to point out that the N1800 Network scanner has quite a minimalistic form factor, measuring just around 11.8 x 8.9 x 6.8 inches, which means that finding a location for it around the office shouldn't prove to be much of a problem.

Naturally, since we're talking about a rather complex, high-end office scanner, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that it's actually fairly expensive, as the SRP for the ScanSnap N1800 Network Scanner has been set at around $1,895.
