Like all other PC makers, Fujitsu is aware that the effects of the economic recession are still making themselves felt across the globe. As such, each new product is made as affordable as possible, when meant for the mainstream, and especially suited for a certain set of tasks. This allows companies to address multiple segments. Still, there can only be so many specialized systems, which is why not all PCs can be exclusively professional or consumer-oriented. The Fujitsu LifeBook A530 and AH530 are the most recent examples of notebooks with a wide target consumer base.

The LifeBook A530 and AH530 are equally qualified to be used as home laptops and business mobile PCs. They have 1366 x 768 LED-backlit screens measuring 15.6 inches and operate on an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 central processing unit. Whichever chip is selected, it is backed up by up to 8GB of RAM. The configurations also include a DVD writer, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a 4-in-1 card reader. As for internal storage, a 500GB HDD is available.

“By focusing on LIFEBOOK as the single brand for Fujitsu notebooks, we are emphasizing that there is a model to suit everyone’s lifestyle,” Rajat Kakar, vice president Clients Group at Fujitsu Technology Solutions, said. “The LIFEBOOK name is highly respected in the market and is a perfect ambassador for the Fujitsu brand. Across the entire range of Fujitsu notebooks, users will recognize that LIFEBOOK stands for quality.”

Fujitsu's two creations use anti-glare LCDs with a 16:9 aspect ratio, built-in HDMI outputs, 6-cell 4,400mAh batteries and special flat cap spill-resistant keyboards with full number pads. They have a starting price of 339 Euro and run Windows 7 or XP. Unfortunately, the exact date when they will start shipping is still a mystery.
