Fujitsu Computer Products of America announced the launch of a new imaging device, the Fujitsu fi-5530C2 scanner, which comes with a small footprint and fast image capturing capabilities, being perfect for the role of a departmental scanner. The new fi-5530C2 scanner comes with software enhancements as well as improved image processing which are then coupled with fast capturing speed in order to provide its users with more document imaging and functionality.

The Fujitsu fi-5530C2 is intended for office use and it comes equipped with a number of software suites like the Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS for short) 4.1 Basic, Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and ScandAll Pro for improved document imaging processing and productivity, along with quick and easy integration into existing workflows. The new scanning device is offering speeds of up to 50 pages per minute so it can easily transform paper documents into manageable digital files with a high quality image output thanks to its true optical 600 dots per inch, DPI for short, resolution. Designed to support high workload which are specific to the corporate environments, the fi-5530C2 scanner is able to process up to 5,000 documents per day and that is easily done thanks to its 100-page automatic document feeder.

Because the new imaging device from Fujitsu is equipped with dual-CCD scanning arrays it can easily create and capture fine details both in the color and monochrome spectrum. Unlike most competing products the fi-5530C2 scanner offers ultrasonic double feed detections so accidentally introduced double pages will not be processed as well as a selector for white or black backgrounds and a number of other basic image manipulation functions like auto de-skew, auto-cropping, page counter and RGB color dropout. "Businesses across all markets, including the banking, education, energy, financial, government, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries are continuously challenged to maintain efficiency in workflow processes, while requiring fewer resources to manage these tasks," said Victor Kan, vice president of sales and marketing, Imaging Products Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "Fujitsu is very mindful of these growing and changing needs and is constantly expanding the feature set in its scanning solutions to provide our customers with the most innovative products on the market."

The operating system support is wide as the scanning device supports all Microsoft Windows versions as well as Linux distributions based on 2.4 and newer kernels and Mac OS systems. The Fujitsu fi-5530C2 scanner is now directly available from purchase from many channel retail dealers and authorized resellers at a price of $3,995.
