It’s a high-quality, “Made in Japan” mobile computer

The world’s number one Tablet PC vendor, Japanese notebook and server manufacturer Fujitsu has just launched the new LIFEBOOK LH772 premium notebook, on its official website. This is a “Made in Japan” device and that sticker itself carries a lot of professionalism and respect.

Editor’s note:

Last time I had a chance to work with a Japan-made notebook from Fujitsu was some months ago. It was a Fujitsu BIBLO model that was only sold in Japan.

We're talking about a Pentium M with an ATi video card and a Floppy drive next to a DVD-Writer.

The family got the notebook from a friend in Japan so, the parents and two kids abusing the notebook represented the second set of users that were battling with Fujitsu’s Japan-made quality and design.

The problem was the hard drive. I swapped it with a newer Samsung-made ATA 160 GB drive and I noticed that, despite all the food and liquids that had been spilled on the keyboard, the inside of the notebook was dust and dirt free.

Other than requiring a new HDD (which wasn’t Fujitsu’s responsibility anyway), the whole unit was working perfectly.

The cooling fan was clean and silent, and the floppy was also in good working order. I had tightened the screws on the back too much and the fan started touching the chassis, but after loosening those, it was perfect again.

This is a good example of what Made in Japan means for a 10 year-old used and abused notebook.

The Fujitsu Launches LIFEBOOK LH772 is powered by Intel’s new Ivy Bridge architecture and comes with an Nvidia, Kepler-based, video card handling a 14-inch High Definition SuperFine LCD screen.

The laptop comes with three popular colors: black, white and pink and, despite being just a 14” model, it also has a 10 key numpad.

Pricing has not been made available.
