As we reported earlier this weekend, Fujitsu IS12T, the world's first Windows Mango phone to be available on the market, is ready to hit shelves on August 25.

The smartphone was initially spotted at Au KDDI store in Biccamera Yurakucho, Tokyo, Japan, where customers could get a glimpse at the upcoming device, though none of the samples showcased were powered on.

It appears that KDDI has just confirmed that the Fujitsu IS12T Mango phone will be available for purchase in selected stores starting August 25 and will spread in all carrier's stores in the country by August 27, depending on the region.

Originally slated for a September release, it looks like the Windows Mango build was ready earlier than expected, and the manufacturers were able to make the Fujitsu IS12T in a jiffy.

This is the first smartphone to run Microsoft's Windows Phone Mango operating system that makes it to the market.

Manufactured by Toshiba-Fujitsu joint-venture the device was officially introduced by Japanese carrier KDDI, in July.

According to Fujitsu, the IS12T is the first Windwos Phone device to be fully protected against water and dust.

Hardware-wise the phone is one of the most advanced to run Microsoft's mobile platform, as it embeds a 13.2-megapixel camera and features 3.7-inch capacitive display with 16 million colors support.

In addition, the handset is equipped with a single core Qualcomm MSM-8655 processor clocked at 1GHz and packs 32 GB of internal memory.

It has a large 3.7-inch capacitive display with 16 million colors support and features support for both CDMA and GSM connectivity.

Fujitsu IS12T supports both CDMA and GSM connectivity and offers users an array of connectivity options, including GPS with A-GPS support, six-axis motion sensing, WiFi b/g/n connectivity and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR support.

Obviously, the phone comes bundled with Microsoft Office suite that enables users to create, edit and read documents, as well as Internet Explorer 9.

Users will also be able to use Microsoft's cloud service Windows Live SkyDrive to store data, free of charge.
