By the time Microsoft brings its new flagship smartphones later this year, the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, some of the technology they will pack may have already been included in other devices.

Some of you probably know by now that one or both Microsoft smartphones to be launched this fall will pack iris scanner, something that has been advertised as a technology no other handset has.

Well, that's not the case anymore, since Fujitsu recently launched its Arrows NX F-04G smartphone in Japan, where customers can pick it up from NTT Docomo.

Aside from the fact that the name of the smartphone is a bit hard to remember, Fujitsu's device is beefed up with some of the best technologies available on the market.

However, the most important seems to be the fact that it comes with a feature called Iris Passport. In fact, Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G is the world's first smartphone to include an iris scanner, something that many handset makers have hoped to achieve.

Quad HD display and Snapdragon 810 CPU inside

The rest of the phone's specs are at the highest tier as well. For example, it comes with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Fujitsu's smartphone boasts a 21-megapixel photo snapper with Sony sensor on the back, which also sports autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities. It's also worth mentioning that the device is powered by a 3,120 mAh battery.

The Arrows NX F-04G ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box and costs around $750 (€667) outright. For the time being, there are no plans to make the Fujitsu smartphone available outside Japan.
