During the last few days of 2013, we found out from a trusted source that Fujifilm would release this year the successor of the X20 compact point-and-shoot digital camera, namely the X30.

Recently, FujiRumors received an anonymous tip that confirmed Fujifilm's plans to launch the X30 this year, but added that the camera would not be revealed this month or in March. According to this source, Fujifilm will introduce the X30 later in summer.

For the moment, that's all we know about this model, but I have a feeling that we're going to find out more soon enough, maybe right after CP+ 2014. Currently, Fujifilm X20 is available for purchase in the US at a price of $499 / €365.

Fujifilm has a few more high-end digital cameras planned to be launched this year, including a new point-and-shoot flagship model, the X200, as well as the successor of the current X-Pro1 mirrorless camera, the X-Pro2, rumored to be introduced at Photokina in September.
