Initially planned for December 5, the new update had been postponed by Fujifilm due to the discovery of a last-minute bug.

Today, December 19, the Nippon manufacturer announced the availability of the new v3.10 firmware for its professional-grade mirrorless camera, the X-Pro1.

It seems that the wait was totally worth it, as the new build comes with a few new features and improvements that will increase the operability of your Fujifilm X-Pro1 interchangeable-lens digital camera.

After updating your camera firmware, you will benefit from an improved accuracy and cover range for the bright frame in the OVF (Optical Viewfinder), which enables the camera to check a field of view closer to the actual image.

Current exposure levels can now be checked in live-view mode as well as in the histogram, but they can be turned off when the final image is different from the live-view scenario (eg. when using flash).

In addition to that, v3.10 X-Pro1 now allows you to change aperture and shutter speed even if you locked your exposure (EV value) with the AE lock button, giving the possibility to tweak your settings right before taking your shot.

If you're usually using the AUTO ISO feature of the camera, the new firmware enables you to set standard ISO, maximum ISO, as well as a low-speed shutter limit of up to 1/500 of a second.

Starting with this build, the X-Pro1 will allow its users to edit the default image file name into a 4-letter name when selecting “sRGB,” or a 3-letter name with the “Adobe RGB” color profile selected. This might come in handy when organizing and sorting your images after a photo session.

Furthermore, the new iteration also changes the way images captured using continuous shooting are numbered. After this update, all frames in continuous shooting will now be displayed as full screen images in playback and their number will follow numerically as per standard single shots.

Moreover, the v3.10 firmware improves the RAW file conversion function used when developing RAF images in-camera. If you want to benefit from all these new features and improvements, you should download Fujifilm X-Pro1 Firmware 3.10 right away.
