Nippon manufacturer, Fujifilm announced today in a press release the official launch of their ultra-wide to standard zoom lens, the Fujinon XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS.

The new Fujinon XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS lens comes with a 2.4x zoom factor and it's equivalent to a 15-36mm focal length in 35mm full frame format. It's ultra-wide capabilities make this lens a perfect choice to capture detailed landscapes, architecture and interiors.

In addition to that, the lens has a maximum aperture of f/4 constant throughout the entire zoom range, which comes in handy when handheld shooting in low-light conditions.

The lens comes with a complex interior construction with 14 elements in 10 groups including 4 high-precision aspherical lenses and 3 extra low dispersion glass elements designed to minimize flare and chromatic aberrations and maximize performance of the X-Trans sensor at the same time.

Additionally, the reverse side of the front lens features a newly developed coating designed to reduce ghosting that typically occurs with these types of lenses. The 10-24mm F4 lens also comes with internal Optical Image Stabilization that further increases low-light handheld shooting capabilities.

The lens can focus from a minimum 24-cm distance allowing you to capture beautiful macro shots that puts your subject in a greater context. Furthermore, the high-speed AF system is capable of delivering fast and precise autofocus.

With the latest firmware updates of the X-series cameras, the lens is capable of delivering enhanced resolving power at all apertures thanks to the Lens Modulation Optimizer function.

With this new addition, Fujifilm now covers a wide range of focal lengths from 15mm to 350mm (in 35mm equivalent). The lens is now available for pre-order at a price of $999.95 / €999 / £849,99 and will hit market shelves in March 2014.
