There has been a year since Fuhu has launched two slates targeted at kids and teens, the nabi 2 and nabi XD tablets

Now the company has finally managed to push out an update, bringing a few extra goodies to the package. The operating systems for both tablets have been maintained, as Android 4.0 still stays for the first slate and Android 4.1 for the second.

With the upgrade, however, the nabi 2 has packed a new app called Time Controls which allows parents to gain more control over their child’s slate. They can, for example, limit the time spent by the child on the tablet and issue rewards in response.

Most importantly, the tablet will now feature the NOOK app that allows children and their parents to tap into a library of over 5,500 digital book tablets.

As for the nabi HD, teenagers will discover the new nabi Launcher, which allows users to create their own customizable homescreens. The app takes into account the user’ location and the time of the day.
