Besides its powerful search engine, Google also owns a different search engine, Froogle, that is meant to allow its users to search for information about the products that are available for online shopping.

"Froogle is Google's shopping search engine, designed to help searchers find information about products for sale online. Froogle applies the power of Google's search technology to a very specific task: locating merchants that sell the item you want to find and pointing you directly to the place where you can make a purchase," Google describes its product.

If you're interested in buying products that are listed on Froogle's search results page, you should know that this service does not represent an online store so it's impossible to do shopping from Froogle. The solution provided by Google displays the available products for online shopping and will redirect you to the respective merchant.

Because Froogle's popularity is very high, the search giant decided to expand the products in multiple countries to increase its success in specific areas on the Earth.

The first country in Google's list is UK, so the company released the shopping search engine just before the Christmas holiday to allow users to do their shopping online with ease.

"Just in time to find a decent pair of wellies for the winter, we've launched Froogle UK. More Britons than ever are shopping online, so we wanted to offer the broadest possible shopping selection with merchants large and small who sell throughout the U.K. With unbiased price comparisons and free listings for all participating merchants, now Froogle can assist with retail therapy on both sides of the pond," Karen Padham, Froogle Product Manager, said on the official blog.

The new Froogle UK is available on this link but you should expect for more powerful features soon as the program is still in the beta stage.
