The FlipMouse is nothing more than the Microsoft Touch Mouse on innovation steroids.

Created by Ben Jones and Gregory Fong from Harvey Mudd College, the FlipMouse took second place the UIST Student Innovation Contest in the Most Creative category, which came with a $500 prize.

The project was runner-up to the TUI.TAR, and involves transforming the Microsoft Touch Mouse into a more complex controller.

Make sure to check out the video embedded at the top of this article in order to get an idea of what Jones and Fong managed to put together.

Just for the record, they used the Microsoft Touch Mouse and the Touch Mouse application programing interface (API).

But it’s important to note that there are number of additional UIST Student Innovation Contest winners, some of them with amazing projects – read more about this here.
