iPhone owners who are interested in playing on their precious handsets might be happy to find out that two new games are available for download via the App Store.

The first is Frogger, the popular arcade title originally released by Konami back in 1981 and re-made in lots of new versions since then. The Japanese developer has just launched an iPhone edition of the game too, allowing users to experience its simple but captivating gameplay on the multi-touch screen of Apple's handset.

Talking about Frogger and the iPhone, Joe Morris, Vice President of Konami Mobile, said, "We see the iPhone platform as an opportunity to showcase the legendary Konami brands in a truly unique fashion. Konami is committed to providing players with games that leverage the latest technology. Fans of the best-selling Frogger franchise can now experience the title like never before, and we look forward to releasing more of our popular titles for the iPhone soon".

Frogger for iPhone is available for $9.99 and can be downloaded directly on your old or new iPhone via the App Store.

The second game that can now be played on the iPhone comes from Hudson Soft, another Japanese company, and it's the so-called PuzzLoop. Available via the App Store for $7.99, PuzzLoop resembles the famous Zuma and Luxor games. Like the new Frogger, PuzzLoop has been optimized to make the best out of iPhone's 3.5 inch touchscreen display and it comes to offer gamers a puzzle adventure that should keep them captivated and entertained for a long time.

Of course, besides being released for the iPhone, the two aforementioned games can also be played on Apple's iPod Touch - the prices and download procedures are the same.

With the August 22 iPhone 3G release in 21 new countries (save for the 21 states where the phone is already available), Apple's handset is set to be one of the most popular mobile devices of all time. This being said, the availability of more and more games for it is surely welcome.
