With the launch of fring 5.0 on the iOS App Store, the developers of the VoIP chatting application are proud to announce that the world’s first mobile group video calls is now available as a free download. Best of all, it works between iDevices and Android gadgets too.

Describing fring as the mobile communication service that pioneered mobile video over internet calls in 2009, the developers reveal that up to 4 friends can now video call each other on 1 screen, using the updated fring application.

“You got to try it... Free and oh so Much fun!”, fringland Ltd. says, trying to entice potential users.

fring is actually the only free mobile Group Video Call service in the world. You can use it to video call or voice-call any other iPhone, iPod touch, Android device, and Nokia phone (and others), and it lets you see your friends’ real-time status too.

You can chat with your friends before video-calling them, and if you have friends that haven’t yet picked up on fring, you can buy fringOut credit (via iTunes) and call any regular landline or mobile worldwide.

The developers say it’s still way cheaper than traditional calling and it works on 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, GPRS, and EDGE.

“fring continues to grow aggressively with tens of millions of users in more than 200 countries, adding more than half a million new users every month,” fringland said.

The app also promises to offer the best video and audio quality possible by automatically and continuously adjusting your video call quality to match your connectivity.

This is possible only through fring's video calling DVQ technology (Dynamic Video Quality).

Compatible with all iDevices, including the iPad, fring 5 is now available on the App Store. Start with the handy link to get to it. iOS requirements start at 3.0, so pretty much everyone can’t give fring a try right now.
