With new features, improvements and fixes

Mobile phone users owning a Symbian or Android-based device have now a new flavor of the popular fring application to enjoy on their handsets. According to the developing team, the new releases are delivered as part of the company's commitment to provide its users with an enhanced experience, while the improvements they bring along are based on the feedback they received from users. At the same time, the company also listed some of the changes that the new versions of the application bring to Symbian and Android users out there.

Starting with the former operating system, the list of changes in version 4.1 includes: - Changing your status is now as easy as 1,2,3. Let your friends know if you are online, offline, busy, or you can just stay invisible if you don’t want to be disturbed; all in the click of a button! - And yes- you’ve been asking for it and it’s finally here- DTMF. Now dialing “#” (“pound”) and “*” sign (“star”) is possible to use within a call through the new fring dialer. Bonuses for our Nokia touch users: - Twitter 2.0 just got a brand-new look, making it easier for you to post your tweets, re-tweet and follow friend’s, from wherever you are. See full tweets and links on one screen & easily navigate between them. - Like your chats to be even livelier? You’ll love live links inside your fring chat.

As for Android users, the new version 1.2.0.25 of the application comes around with voice, connectivity and stability improvements, as well as with a series of requested settings, including: Hide/Show offline buddies, Hide/Show address book, Privacy settings for IM signature and mood message, A fix for the audio issues on Motorola DROID and Milestone, Better support for Google’s Nexus One and Bug fixes.

Moreover, the company said that the in-chat advertising it put in place a while ago had been expanded to additional Symbian devices. Not to mention that they also announced that the video calls option was set to soon arrive to a wider range of mobile phones, such as the Nokia E71.
