Almost 20 years ago, the Internet was made available for commercial use, but domain names have been restricted to only 22 (.com, .net, .gov, etc.), meaning that finding a good and memorable name became almost impossible over the last few years.

Internet domain name registry Donuts has applied at ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) for 307 top-level-domain names (TLDs), including a few names that will surely come in handy for anyone owning a business related to photography.

For example, a domain such as YourName.photography or BusinessName.equipment will be easier to recognize and access than YourNamePhotography.com. Equipment manufacturers and business owners could also benefit from these new TLDs that also include names like: .camera, .equipment, .lighting, .photos, .repair, .gallery etc.

Some of the new TLDs (.camera, .equipment, .photography) have already gone through the Sunrise period and are available for Early Access starting this month. You can check out the full list of new domain names on the Donuts website.

According to OpenSRS domain reseller, you can purchase some of the above mentioned TLDs for as much as $140 / €100.
