It uses Lightning connectors and works with iPod speaker systems

This must be the day or week of strange 3D printing developments, as we are seeing a very unexpected and very orange 3D-printed iPhone dock just hours after reporting on the Federal Firearms License received by a gun 3D printing group.

In the photo above, we have a 3D printed iPhone dock adapter for third-party iPod speakers.

Made by Sculpteo, it uses Lightning connectors to link iPhones and iPods to speaker systems.

Even older systems work with the dock, and if there are any iPod speaker systems that need special hardware, it is easy to 3D print an adapter instead of asking a factory to manufacture it.

Users will have to buy the Lightning to dock connector separately, from Apple, but Sculpteo's adapters can be ordered for $17 each (13.11-17 Euro).
