Apple UK has announced through its iTunes12DaysOfChristmas.co.uk website that it will be offering free songs, music videos, apps, TV episodes and movies on a daily basis from December 26 to January 6. The Mac maker encourages brits to sign up for the company’s newsletter so they don’t miss a thing.

“This Christmas, we’re feeling very generous and are giving out free gifts galore,” Apple’s message reads on the iTunes12DaysOfChristmas.co.uk website. “From 26 December to 6 January you and all your friends can download a free song or music video, app, TV episode or film from some of the biggest star performers on iTunes. Each free download will be valid for 24 hours only so make sure you sign up for our daily email alerts or become a fan of iTunes (UK) on Facebook to get the daily downloads for free.”

Although the message addresses United Kingdom customers, Apple sources have reportedly confirmed to 9to5Mac that the promotion will be available “across Europe.” The site points out that last year's giveaways included music from Katy Perry, Lily Allen and The Ting Tings, while the sponsors appear to be O2, Ticketmaster, HeartFM, Capital FM and The Times, according to the same sources.

For those who are new to iTunes, Apple offers this page to get started, and to find out how to use iTunes and take part in 12 Days of Christmas. “To access the 12 Days of Christmas free downloads, you will need to install iTunes and create an iTunes Store Account,” the first step goes. Both Mac OS X and Windows PC users can download the free version of the digital media player. Next up, users need to head to the top menu and choose “Create Account” from the drop-down list. Once they’ve set up an account (Apple ID), users can then return to the 12 Days of Christmas website from 26 Dec to 6 Jan to access their free downloads.
