Microsoft continues to allow customers to test drive its Cloud platform free of charge for limited periods of time, just to get a feel of what the company has to offer.

Time and again the software giant has boasted the most complete set of Cloud offerings on the market, including, platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and software as a service (SaaS).

Of course, Microsoft’s main focus throughout 2010 was placed on pushing Windows Azure to both customers and developers.

One way of doing this involved promotions and free usage offers to testers, just as it is the case for the Windows Azure platform 30 day pass.

I first told you about the Windows Azure platform 30 day pass back in August 2010, and as 2011 is now just a few days away, the promotion is still live.

“We're offering a Windows Azure platform 30 day pass, so you can put Windows Azure and SQL Azure through their paces. No credit card required.

“With the Windows Azure platform you pay only for what you use, scale up when you need capacity and pull back when you don't,” Microsoft stated.

Just ahead of the holidays, Tony Bailey, Senior Marketing Manager contacted me in relation to a new pass available for developers based in the United States.

“Microsoft has come out with a NEW pass offer for USA developers this week: promo code = MPR001,” he said.

If you are indeed interested in testing Windows Azure and seeing what the Cloud platform has to offer then by all means make sure to head over to the Windows Azure Platform 30 Day Pass website and use the promo code provided by Bailey.

Testing Windows Azure today ensures that developers will be ready for tomorrow, and make no mistake about it, the Cloud is inevitable.
