Microsoft is making it as easy as possible for users of Windows 7 to find both new and old themes to personalize the operating system.

Before the new Bing Visual Search for Windows 7 themes, customers needed to visit the Windows Personalization Gallery, monitoring the New Themes section, in order to come across the latest content offered by the software giant.

At the same time, they also needed to dig through the categories highlighted by the Redmond company in order to find old themes that had been put together in accordance with a specific topic, such as animals or nature.

The new Bing Visual Search for Windows 7 themes provides a better way for searching for new theme packs, with easy to apply filters, better interaction, and overall, a superior user experience compared to the static Windows Personalization Gallery.

Users will need to have Silverlight installed in order to enjoy Bing Visual Search, and this is valid for the entire vertical of Microsoft’s search/decision engine, and not just for the portion reserved for Windows 7 themes.

“Themes from Microsoft—see them all, find one fast. Start with all of them and quickly sort out what you don't want,” Microsoft stated.

“Don't know the name? No need. Just browse for the right one. Click to get all the details.”

The best thing about Bing Visual Search for Windows 7 themes is the fact that it centralizes various information about the downloads offered to customers.

Users will be able to easily see the number of wallpapers included in a certain theme pack, as well as assess the size of the download, and read the description provided by Microsoft.
