The free (lite) version of Angry Birds Seasons for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad has received the Easter treatment with 3 brand new seasonal levels, a new theme, and a new golden egg.

“As we all know, every season is an Angry Birds season. After St. Patrick’s, Trick Or Treat and Season’s Greedings, Angry Birds Seasons is back – and now there are chocolate eggs and bunnies!”, says Rovio Mobile Ltd.

“So shed the winter gear and get in – Easter Eggs have never been this delicious! If you think St. Patrick’s Day was a blast, well, you ain’t seen nothing yet!”, the announcement reads.

Angry Birds Seasons Free version 1.4.0 was released yesterday, packing a new theme full of spring, three new levels, and a new golden egg.

The three new levels were already available in the paid version of Angry Birds Seasons which got updated on iOS platforms earlier this week.

The paid builds add 15 new spring-themed, and an extra three for those who “listen to the twitter of birds.”

Angry Birds Seasons debuted in October 2010, when Rovio released a special Halloween edition of the game.

Angry Birds Halloween was exclusive to iOS gamers at the time. Made available as a separate application, it included new levels with Halloween-themed music and graphics.

Angry Birds Seasons became Angry Birds Halloween in December with the introduction of 25 Christmas-themed levels, one for each day leading to the holiday.

Following the Christmas episode were Hogs and Kisses (a Valentine’s release), Go Green, Get Lucky (celebrating St. Patrick's Day), and the most recent update, Easter Eggs.

Angry Birds Seasons Free requires an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and iOS 4.0 or later. The iPad-native version of the game is a separate download.
