Plus a chance to meet Barry Sanders

It looks like it's a "contests day" today, as only few hours after Verizon announced its Jonas Brothers / Paradise initiative, Alltel, the fifth largest US mobile carrier, has also come up with an attractive sweepstakes. Unlike the Verizon one, though, Alltel's contest has to do with football and not with music.

The so-called "My Circle Gridiron Getaway" sweepstakes that Alltel is rolling-out will allow you and ten of your friends to go to "any regular season college or pro football game" in the US (American football, of course, not soccer).

Starting August 30, you can enter the contest by sending a text message with the word JET to 57533, or by going to the promotion's official website, found at this address. Winners (and their friends) will get to fly with a personal jet to see the game they choose, regardless of its location. Moreover, there will be five big prizes that offer, besides the trip, a "pre-game tailgate", an unspecified amount of cash and a MOTO Q 9c smartphone - yours to keep and make use of.

"Alltel's My Circle Gridiron Getaway takes football fans to places they have only imagined. Whether our winners want to check out their rival's home turf or see two top ranked teams battle it out, they are completely in control of their destination and VIP experience," declared Samira Zebian, sponsorship marketing director for Alltel Wireless.

One of the winners of the mentioned big prizes (plus his friends) will have the chance to meet Barry Sanders, the famous NFL player recognized as one of North America's most prolific running backs ever.

"The freedom to travel to any stadium in the country and cheer for your favorite team is a dream for any football fan. I’m thrilled to team up with Alltel Wireless to help bring this once-in-a-lifetime experience straight to fans," Barry Sanders says.
