Virtual Programming is on the lookout for Mac Beta testers and they promise to hand you some free games if you do a good job. They don’t ask much, but you’ll need some decent specs, including OS X Snow Leopard.

Virtual Programming contacted us to spread the following news to Mac gamers worldwide.

“We’re always looking for a few good Beta testers. Think you could be one of them? You’ll not only receive free copies of the games you test, but you could also earn credits at Deliver2Mac and get even more games,” said the studio.

You’ll need to fill out a form that says what game genres (role-playing, strategy, action, etc.) interest you, but they do ask that only “avid gamers” apply. In other words, if Angry Birds is where you set your bar, don’t bother.

You’ll have to tell them your Mac’s specs, which include model, processor, amount of RAM, video card, and OS X version. The form specifically states that you need Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or higher.

Gamers will need to access and use a web-based bug reporting system, which means you’ll also need Internet (not that you didn’t figure that one out on your own).

VP wants testers to be able to spend at least 5 hours per week playing a game and reporting bugs.

“The more time you spend playing a game and giving quality feedback, the more we’ll reward you with credits at Deliver2Mac. Those credits can be redeemed for more free games,” says the studio.

Finally, if you get picked by the review team, you’ll receive an email explaining how to access the bug reporting system, as well as how to download the Beta versions of the games.

Gamers will be notified on a regular basis when new projects are available. So all you have to do now is fire an email to [email protected] and let VP know you’re interested.
