Microsoft has just unveiled a brand new reward scheme for its Xbox 360 owners all around the world. They are offering free MS Points for different types of activity on their consoles, ranging from actually playing games to enjoying entertainment apps or social services.

The Xbox 360 has transcended its gaming role and now offers all sorts of features, effectively becoming a social and entertainment platform, thanks to recent partnerships with different TV channels and other such services that can be viewed through special apps made for the console.

In order to motivate people to try all these things out, Microsoft is holding a special Triple Play promotion throughout April.

Basically, Xbox 360 owners need to play games on their console, consume entertainment, and visit social networks. Once they do enough of these things, they’ll receive 300 MS Points free of charge.

In each category, you need to complete at least one of the following requirements.

Gaming Play a Kinect game for two hours Play online via Xbox Live for ten hours Spend 800 Points or more on game-related items (Games on Demand, DLC, XBLA, etc.)

Entertainment Spend 400 Points or more on any film or TV content Use one of the following apps for ten hours: BBC iPlayer, blinkbox, Crackle, Last.FM, LOVEFiLM, MUZU, Netflix, Sky, VEVO or Zune

Social Use Facebook on Xbox Live for one hour Use YouTube on Xbox Live for one hour Use Video Kinect on Xbox Live for one hour

You can complete more of these requirements but you’ll only get one reward, so don’t expect lots of free MS Points to arrive from Microsoft because of your dedication.

The Triple Play promotion is available throughout the month of April and you can find out some more details about it and its requirements at this link.
