Infinity Blade, a new sword fighting action game developed exclusively for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, is getting its first add-on next week, according to Chair Entertainment’s Donald Mustard. Infinity Blade is currently the top grossing title in the iTunes App Store.

The Epic-owned development studio is reportedly aiming to take advantage of the game's early popularity by pushing the first add-on onto iOS gamers next week.

Chair has been working hard to achieve this, as Mustard reveals to gaming site Joystiq in an interview.

"We're all very thrilled with how cool it looks, but the same amount of time it takes to make a high-res character for Gears is the same amount of time it takes to make one for Infinity Blade or to make these environments," Chair's Donald Mustard told Joystiq.

"It takes time to make this stuff look awesome, and we want it to look awesome."

According to the interview, the update (which should arrive before Christmas) includes five new weapons, five new shields, five new helmets and a new armor set, as well as a new enemy type that players will fight with, called the "Marrow Fiend" (image above).

"There will be new areas to go to, the story will be evolving a little more as you see what the God King is really up to, and we're going to let people go down into the dungeons," Donald Mustard continued to reveal to Joystic.

"For high-level players especially, you'll start to find some enemies that make the [current] enemies look like nothing."

Co-founder Geremy Mustard chimed in to say "We really do listen to the gamer feedback, reading through the various forums. There are some things we agree with and somethings we don't, but the things we do agree with we're going to be putting into the game and making it better."
