Since its release, the first-person tactical shooter for the PC, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41- 45 was not updated in any way, but according to Voodoo Extreme, Tripwire Interactive will soon launch a new free ad-on for the game.

The ad-on is named Free Booster Pack, and it will contain a significant number of new features like some new maps and vehicles. Previous rumors unveiled that the new map present in the ad-on will be a remake of an original map, but now it's certain that the embedded map is Danzig. It has been rebuilt and the gameplay and visual effect have been improved.

As regarding vehicles, some new ones have been introduced including Panzer IV H and Universal Carrier. Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 online community have been begging for the Panzer IV H tank as it is equipped with one T-34 and some side-armor meant to defect anti-tank rifle rounds.

The second vehicle, the Universal Carrier, is of British origin, as it was supplied by the British to the Soviets during the war. This is the most common armored transport vehicles used by the Soviets in their war effort. It can carry up to 6 people but it also has some armor and guns, including the DT light machine gun.

Besides this new map and vehicles, the ad-on will fix some bugs, will also add some new features. ROTV will be included, feature that will allow for games to be watched by a large number of spectators without servers crashing. The viewing distance has also been enlarged, from 1,000 meters up to 3,000-4,000 meters.
