Officials have detailed that the July 4 firework explosion that wounded 28 people in California yesterday was accused by a falling wooden platform.

As I mentioned, four people were seriously injured and 20 required hospitalization in Simi Valley.

According to the Global Post, the platform at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, located near East Los Angeles Avenue, tipped over.

It was holding live fireworks, and they were directed at the crowd as they blew up after 9:30 p.m. The Independence Day celebration had just began when the pyrotechnics ignited.

Authorities are calling this a "Fireworks mishap" and there is still no information on what caused the platform to collapse.

Also on July 4, a parade in Edmond, Oklahoma resulted in tragedy as a man ran over his own son, after the latter fell off a float.
