Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S6 in March

Samsung is going to be one of the major tech players to come at MWC 2015 and unveil their latest flagship smartphone. So everyone is expecting to see the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge finally make a debut into the wild next month.

In anticipation of the big event, I put together a list of four features of the Galaxy S6 that you might really love and this week I thought I'd do the reverse.

The Galaxy S6 won’t be a perfect product, as there is no such thing as perfection. But what are some of its culprits? Continue reading below to find out.

It might be too iPhone 6-esque

As it has become apparent for the past few days, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 will probably bear a very big resemblance to Apple’s current iPhone 6 model.

Not long ago, we saw a few renders which were designed taking into account leaked images of the phone’s purported parts and accessory cases. The results bore an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone 6.

What’s more, two schematics revealed the Galaxy S6 might come with a protruding camera and 6.9 mm / 0.27 inches body, which is something we also see with the Apple phone.

Samsung is going smaller not bigger with the Galaxy S6 display

The Galaxy S5 launched with a 5.1-inch display, but if you’re to listen to the latest hearsay online, it appears the Galaxy S6 will be shrunken down to 5-inch.

It’s not a huge difference, but it still represents a change in the world of smartphones where new models tend to increase or at least retain the screen size of their predecessor. That happens because customers are driving the trend.

So maybe you wanted an even larger display on your Galaxy S6. As things look right now, it appears this won’t be the case.

Luckily, the reduction is not a massive one, so if the Galaxy S5 felt comfortable to you, the Galaxy S6 should too.

It might be even more expensive than the iPhone 6

A recent leak revealed the European prices for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and judging by the look of them, you should really start saving up if you want one.

In case you missed them, the Galaxy S6 will go on sale starting at €749 / $850 and going all the way up to €949 / $1,077, while the Galaxy S6 Edge goes up from €849 / $963 all the way to €1,049 / $1,190.

Puzzling enough, Samsung is trying to play quite boldly. If these prices turn out to be the real deal, we might be looking at flagships even more expensive than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

To compare in Europe, the iPhone 6 comes with a price tag between €699 / $793 to €899 / $1,020, while the iPhone Plus adds €100 / $113 to the bill.

It won’t be waterproof

A report recently claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curved dual-edge variant, the Galaxy S6 Edge, won’t be waterproof like the Galaxy S5 before them.

The Galaxy S5 was made available with IP67 certification, meaning it could be used in up to 3.2 feet / 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes.

This was a nice addition, because up until then Samsung had released waterproof handsets only under the “Active” lineup.

But if you were hoping that Samsung’s upcoming flagship would be getting the same treatment, it appears this will not be the case. So you’ll just have to be super careful with what you do when using your Galaxy S6.

Nevertheless, there’s still a glimmer of hope for people who can’t just stay away from pools and puddles while handling their technology.

It appears that Samsung will be offering a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active model which will come equipped with waterproof features. That would take care of things pretty nicely, don’t you think?
