Though top-ranking companies usually make a point of issuing press releases upon the unveiling of a new device, Dell skipped on the official announcements this once and simply sent four new widescreen displays to Asia.

As the back to school season has finally kicked off, and with IFA already out of the way, it is not so surprising to hear that Dell is eager to further increase its product lineup.

In fact, Dell was recently found to have once again claimed the position as second greatest PC supplier, after deposing Acer.

Acer had snatched second greatest rank about nine months ago, but its shipments have been progressively declining ever since, finally causing it to again slip to third place.

Now, however, the company is not launching a new PC, but several new monitors, namely the IN2020M, ST2220M, ST2220L and ST2320L.

In terms of screen size, the ST2220M and ST2220L are identical, at 22 inches, whereas the IN2020M and ST2320L measure 20 inches and 23 inches, respectively.

Coated in glossy black, the IN2020M excels in terms of dynamic contrast ratio, its panel featuring a DCR of 8,000,000:1.

The resolution is not the highest ever invented, at 1,600 x 900 pixels, but HD videos will still be fully supported, which can even be seen as enough for an entry-level 20-incher.

The display also has D-Sub and DVI inputs, as well as a response time of 5ms.

It is the other three monitors that support the full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, though their specifications aren't different in any too many other ways, except in that they boast HDMI inputs as well.

These higher-end models also have EPEAT Silver rating and tilt adjustable stands, among other things.

Unfortunately, though the IN2020M, ST2220M, ST2220L and ST2320L have already been listed online, their prices have not been revealed.
