Released by Sony Ericsson about one year ago, the K770 is positioned in the mid-end range of the company's Cyber-shot family. Currently available in five color versions (Truffle Brown, Soft Black, Henna Bronze, Sandy Beige and Ultra Violet), the handset will soon be sold in four new colors, according to the SEMC Blog: Star Heaven Silver, Touch of Pink, Serene Black and Natural Brown.

While the new black and brown colors are not too different from the existing ones, the pink and silver ones bring a fresh look for the handset, and this will probably make it sell better.

Coming in a classic (and elegant) candybar form factor, Sony Ericsson K770 packs a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and video recording - not too great for a Cyber-shot phone, but not bad either.

The other features of the phone include: a 1.9 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors, Music player, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, NetFront browser, email and Instant Messaging, picture editor and picture blogging, a front-facing VGA camera for video calls, voice memo and voice dialing, handsfree, tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS, HSDPA 2100 connectivity, USB 2.0, 16MB of internal memory and a 256MB M2 card included in the package. The handset weighs 95 grams, measures 105 x 47 x 14.5 millimeters and comes with a 930 mAh battery said to last up to ten hours in talk-time mode or up to 400 hours in stand-by mode.

With the new pink, silver, brown and black colors, the K770 will have no less than nine versions, which makes it the "most colored" Sony Ericsson phone ever. And as long as customers like the device, this is definitely a good thing.

At the moment, the K770 (or K770i) can be bought for retail prices starting at about 185 Euros. Most probably, the new colors will be available for similar prices.
