Forza Motorsport 5 credit payout for players at the end of races will be drastically increased during the month of December, according to developer Turn 10 Studios, who wants to make it up to fans for the restrictive microtransactions imposed on them.

Forza Motorsport 5 launched alongside the Xbox One last week on November 22 in 13 countries around the world.

As a first for the series, the in-game cars can be unlocked either by progressing through the campaign and earning enough credits to do so, or just by opting to pay real money for those credits.

Statements from Turn 10 Studios saying that the rarer, high-end cars were designed to cost a lot sparked some outrage from fans, and the developer quickly confirmed that it was cutting the prices for cars and examining further changes to the microtransactions.

Now, the studio has revealed on its blog that, in order to balance out the playing field between those who pay for cars and those who opt to win races, the payout for Forza players will be increased during the month of December.

"We’re dramatically increasing the credit payout available to all Forza players in December via Forza Rewards, our ongoing loyalty program that rewards players with credits and cars for playing Forza games. You’ll be able to redeem these rewards in December but here’s a tip: The higher your Tier level reaches before December rolls around, the better the rewards you’ll be able to redeem, so get your play time in now and level up!"

What’s more, the studio hasn't forgotten about Limited Edition owners, who received a bonus of 1,250 credits with their version of the game, which was advertised as enough to buy any car, but turned out to be a lie, as there were vehicles that cost more than that.

"In order to make up for this discrepancy, we will soon be offering Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition owners the chance to download and own the car of their choice in the game. Players will be able to choose from any of the on-disc cars in Forza 5 and will be able redeem this offer via a dedicated page that will be available no later than December 16."

As such, it seems that Forza Motorsport 5 players should enjoy a more balanced game.
