Naughty Dog and Sony have announced that they have put together a Fortune Hunter Limited Edition set for their upcoming Uncharted 2, which translates into the package not being available in stores.

The Fortune Hunter Limited Edition of the videogame will come with an art book showing off the style of the title, a voucher that will allow players to get their hands on the first piece of downloadable content launched for the game and, the most important piece, and a replica of the Phurba Dagger, which is set to be one of the keys to the story of the new Nathan Drake starring game.

A post on the official PlayStation blog says that there will be several ways for players to get access to the Fortune Hunter Limited Edition. Apparently, there will be a Home space for Uncharted 2 where some will be given away, the multiplayer demo that starts on September 15 will offer another chance and other competitions are being planned by Sony and Naughty Dog to create buzz around the title.

It's a pretty bold decision to announce a Limited Edition of a game that comes exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and set to provide a boost for the fortunes of the Sony home console. On the one hand, players will hear more about the game and the increase in buzz can benefit the title. On the other hand, some players might decide not to pick up the regular edition on launch as they wait for Sony to make the Fortune Hunter Limited Edition available at retail, which could drive down initial sales for Uncharted 2.

The new Naughty Dog title, subtitled Among Thieves, will be grittier than the first Uncharted title and will provide enhancements in almost all areas, with better graphics, more complex puzzles, exciting gun battles and a bit of platforming.
