The amount of speed you can gain is "potentially open-ended"

Wipeout was a great racing game, and now some of the members of the development team want to create something new in the same vein, namely an anti-gravity racer titled Formula Fusion.

The game aims to deliver the same dazzling speeds and acrobatic tracks that consecrated Wipeout and to push things forward with a ton of loops, jumps, as well as an upgrade system where you reach out to futuristic universities to do research for your team.

The action is set in the future, 50 years after a cataclysmic event, the nuclear war of 2025. Sounds inspiring so far. Civilization is rebuilt from the ashes of the former world, in a new incarnation, with many people banding around vast universities the size of cities, where most of the population lives and works, and that possess their own independent legal systems and economies.

Through the years, science and technology have advanced so much that the field of Quantum Levitation has been pushed to the point where it enables modern transportation to be suspended with artificial gravity fields, above super conducted highways, leading to the birth of the natural evolution of the Formula 1 racing sport, Formula Fusion – Quantum Racing Leagues.

The racing calendar becomes a global sporting event, bringing together people from all across the world, as well as a fierce competition between the various investors.

All about the racing

The game's premier draw is the fact that the top speed you can reach is virtually unlimited. The amount of speed you can gain is open-ended to the point of reaching warp speed.

The tracks are being designed to be even more abstract and exciting than ever, with inverted sections and extreme twists waiting to challenge potential pilots.

Research can be advanced in four different areas, Weapon Systems, Propulsion Systems, Craft Materials and Quantum Physics, and players will be able to race around 7 themed zones, each of which comes with 3 tracks.

Players can select from a total of 10 National Racing Teams / Research Institutes, with different research specialties, and the game will also support multiplayer action, in both local split screen and online.

Also, the team is looking to add Oculus Rift support. You can find out more about the game on Steam Greenlight.
