Both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have denied so many times that they are more than just friends that they probably also lost count of them. Not that this puts an end to the rumors either way, for which reason Melissa Rosenberg, “Twilight” screenwriter, is urging the media to back off them so that romance rumors don’t ruin the experience for fans, StarPulse says.

Rosenberg, who has kept quiet on the subject until now, is finally breaking her silence to point out that all the rumors that are being circulated in the media are actually doing more harm to the “Twilight” franchise than good. This happens because it helps create the confusion that the love story the two play onscreen also translates in real life, she believes. Fans are confused by these reports (be they false or not) and, because of it, are not experiencing the “Twilight” universe as they should.

“Their chemistry on film is so extraordinary; they were beautifully cast for those roles and their chemistry is amazing. I think people often confuse chemistry on-screen with chemistry off-screen. I think people should just enjoy what’s on-screen and leave their privates lives wherever they are. I don’t actually know what they are.” Rosenberg is cited as saying in a recent interview. According to the scribe, it’s precisely this fantastic onscreen chemistry that made the dating rumor surface.

As fans must already know, Rosenberg is not the only one to openly urge the media – and tabloids in particular – to stop running stories on the personal life of the two stars. Just recently, Marcus Foster, fellow musician and close friend of both Pattinson and Stewart, was saying that fans should not pay heed to the tabs and focus solely on the things they like about the “Twilight” phenomenon.

“It’s insane, it’s a nightmare, really.” Foster said when asked about what he thought of the Pattinson-Stewart media frenzy. “I find it all frustrating to be honest. They’re both great people. Everyone should just leave them alone!” the musician also stressed, adding that he loved them both, for which reason he chose to speak out.
