14 DAY TRIAL // For the first time in 8 years, after almost two dozen court appearances, 5 stints in jail and countless promises that she would not get a second chance (which she got either way in the end), Lindsay Lohan is off probation.
Earlier this month, the actress got in trouble again, as a judge warned her she wasn’t even close to completing her community work, which was part of the probation. She was threatened with jail once more, and this time, it worked: she did all her 125 hours by doing full 8-hour working days.
Lindsay Lohan is finally off the hook
As her attorney Shawn Holley says in the video below (shot on her way to court, before the probation was lifted), Lindsay has spent most of her adult life in some sort of legal trouble.
It all started in 2007, when she was busted for possession and DUI, but obviously it wasn’t the only incident. In 2012, she was arrested for reckless driving after crashing into an 18-wheeler, and she made the situation worse by lying to the police officers and claiming she was in the passenger seat.
Since the condition of the probation on the older case was that she didn’t get into more legal trouble, probation was extended until now.
“It does appear Ms. Lohan fully complied with her community service obligation. Probation is terminated as of today,” Judge Mark A. Young has confirmed.
Lindsay too has confirmed the happy news on her social media, saying that it would be like a fresh start for her because it would allow her to focus on what she loved and did best in life: her acting career.

A career thrown down the drain
Before Lindsay became famous for her troubles with the law, her addiction and heavy partying, she was one of the most promising talents of the younger generation.
A former child star, she’d grown up in the spotlight and was bound for a brilliant career in film, since she had shown so much promise since a very young age.
Then, as she grew up from a teen into a young woman, her troubles began. Lindsay grew up at the same time as the paparazzi / tabloid industry, and for years, she relished the attention she got for her eccentricities, thinking it was a sign of her worth.
It cost her her credibility as an actress, together, of course, with her unprofessionalism on set. In recent years, Lindsay’s acting appearances have been few and far in between, and not even close to the success of her older ones.
She’s been more present than ever in the media, though, because of her aforementioned legal troubles.
