Some users are also offering to buy off the coupons

Food stamps can be sold on Craigslist, in case you did not know that. In fact, several ads are posted online, as well as on eBay and other auction sites.

The cards are provided under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and they are supposed to be used by families who cannot afford monthly food allowances, for them to purchase groceries.

The sellers are allowing buyers to pay them under the value of the coupons.

“I have $500 (€360) worth and it costs $350 (€250) cash. No I will not do half!” one frustrated user writes, according to Fox News.

Others are posting ads to buy off the stamps, and they are offering money to cash-strapped users.

Under US federal law, the coupons are not transferable. Do you agree with this practice? Leave me a response in the comments section.
