Two groups of students in San Antonio have been caught on camera in the midst of a full-fledged food fight at a local Whataburger.

The incident was brought on by the close result of a football game between the O'Connor and Brandeis schools. Brandeis won 12-10 on Saturday, September 21, New York Daily News reports.

Students headed out to the diner at Loop 1604 and Bandera Road after the game. Once there, they threw drinks, glasses, food, plates and trays at each other, damaging the Whataburger location and prompting a partial closure of the restaurant.

"Whataburger had the place set up all cute for us, balloons, streamers, banners, etc. And look what we did. We messed it up," one student describes on Twitter.

Other users are not impressed by the brawl and criticize the students' immaturity.

"So apparently there was a foodfight (sic) at whataburger??? Like seriously? Grow up," one user says.

KHOU relays a statement by Pascual Gonzalez, spokesperson for NISD, through which he warns that there will be consequences to the altercation. Suspensions and even formal charges by police might ensue.

"Campus administrators will review videos to identify students who will face appropriate consequences including suspension from school. NISD will also cooperate with law enforcement and restaurant management in pursuing criminal charges if warranted," he says.

An investigation is underway in order for proper penalties to be attributed. Meanwhile, Whataburger has announced that no ban will apply for students of the rival high-schools.

"We understand that this act was an emotional moment between a small group of students and not representative of the entire student population.

"The Whataburger team will continue to welcome Brandeis and O'Connor students at our restaurants and we're also committed to continuing the partnership and support both high schools," they state.
