Meet Foldio, a small foldable studio, which introduces you to entry-level product photography and that was already very well received by lots of backers on its Kickstarter page.
Even though Foldio is marketed as a portable photo studio for smartphones, it could easily meet the needs of any entry-level product photographer.
Foldio is made out of waterproof laminated paper and can easily fit in a briefcase or a small photographer's bag when completely folded. To assemble it, you just need to connect the strong Neodymium magnets and attach the 2mm-thick matt-finished EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) sheet to get an even background.
The portable studio also comes with an LED-strip embedded at the top of Foldio providing an even light across the product. From what it seems, Foldio is very easy to use by anyone and doesn't require to have any knowledge about product photography or lighting.
Foldio also comes with a set of colored background sheets to put your items in a different light if needed. Apart from its relatively small size, 26 x 26 cm / 10.2 x 10.2 inch, that can't accommodate very large objects, Foldio is perfect for smaller items and even macro shots making it a great addition to your photo gear.
